Bûche de Noël Face and Body Cleanser | Reveiw

Heya people of the world,

Today I'm going to review the Lush product Bûche de Noël. Bûche de Noël is a face and body cleanser, now I haven't used it for my body at all so this review is only on how it works on your face. I had never tried lush's cleansing/makeup products before only associating lush with bath stuff; but when I really needed a gentle cleanser for my skin I decided to give Lush a go.

Oh, and before I start let me just say how helpful and friendly the staff at Lush are, I just went in and asked a shop assistant what good cleanser they had and immediately she found me this one and told me all about it.

Right now onto the actual review.
Bûche de Noël is a limited edition holiday/christmas version of  Angels on bare skin, I haven't tried angels on bare skin but many reviews suggest it's very good. I really love the smell of Bûche de Noël as it smells of almonds but i know some people won't like it but please don't let this put you off as it's an amazing cleanser. The price is very reasonable (£6.50, Lush, UK) as you only have to use a little bit of cleanser in your hand and mix it with a very small amount of water until it forms a paste. Then massage it into you face and rinse off with water. This means it lasts for ages.

It's so gentle on your skin but still exfoliates really well; it cleared up my spots straight away and I think it evened out my skin tone as well (apparently this is because of the almond milk). The main thing I love abut this product though is that's it's made from all natural ingredients that I can actually recognize on the packet (which is very rare), so that you don't get that awful feeling when your face starts to go tight and you know you will have to really scrub and rinse your skin to get rid of that excess cleanser. With this cleanser even if you do leave a bit on your skin it won't make you break out anymore because it's all natural ingredients. The only downside of having all these natural ingredients is that it does go off after quite a short amount of time compared to other cleansers but I got through it in no time at all!

I know it might look a bit disgusting but I promise you it's just all the natural ingredients

Overall I think this is a great everyday make up product and I hope I've helped some of you!

Blackberry Crumble Cake

Hi everyone,

It's that time of the year when all the blackberries are ripe and ready to pick so I've got a great recipe you can use your picked blackberries to make. I think blackberries are one of the best fruits to cook with because you can go for a long walk with your family or friends and pick the blackberries and then when you come back you can make this Blackberry Crumble Cake to eat with everyone.
I found this recipe on the BBC Good Food Website which i highly recommend if you are looking for reliable recipes that are sure to work!

First me and my sister went for a walk and picked our blackberries...

We then got back home and measured out 200g blackberries and washed and dried them (although I doubled the recipe so it may look like I have a lot more than you!)

Then i made the cake part of the crumble cake.
First preheat the oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4. Grease and line a 500g loaf tin (i did it in a circular tin because i had doubled the mixture) or i you want to display this cake you will need a cake tin with a removable/loose bottom (so you can get it out of the tin because you can't just turn this cake out because the crumble should be on the top.
Then 120g butter in a mixing bowl and add in 120g sugar. Beat together until the mixture is fluffy and light.
Next add 2 eggs, one at a time, beating into the mixture well.
Fold in 120g self raising flour.
Then spoon the mixture into the tin, spreading to the edges, and top with the blackberries.

Now you've made the cake part onto the crumble...
Place 100g plain flour and 50g butter (cubed) into a bowl. Rub with together with your fingertips until the mixture looks like bread crumbs.
Mix in 50g sugar.
Then sprinkle the crumble over the blackberries, making sure you can see none of them.

Place in the oven and bake for 45-50mins (you will need to bake for longer if you are doubling the recipe like me)

Leave your crumble cake to cool in the tin for about 10 mins and then get it out of the tin and onto a cooling rack. You can eat this cake warm with ice cream or cold at elevenses, however and whenever you want!

Hope you enjoyed this baking blog post!

Introduction to xjustalicexx

Hi xjustalicexx here,
Just wanted to kick-start my blog with a quick intro about me. First of all my name's Alice which you probably already gathered from my username and I love netball and elephants.
I have started this blog because I'd like a space to express myself and write down my feelings and thoughts on my own little space of the internet (my blog).
At the moment i'm not quite sure what I'm going to be blogging about which is similar to most of my life. I really have no idea that I want to do or who I want to be, so I think I'm sort of hoping this blog will help me work it out; but for the moment i'm just going to see where this blog takes me, because I don't think I need to know how the whole of my life is going to turn out at the moment. I'm just going to embrace whatever life throws at me and hope i come out of it with not to many bruises and cuts! And who knows maybe this experience will start something new for me!
